Welcome!
Hey, welcome to the Selrahcian Review Hub! I'm Lord Selrahc, and my goal is to write reviews that go a little more in depth than your typical review or trailer, while also maintaining enough brevity for someone only looking for a quick glance. Confused? Allow me to elaborate.
My goal when it comes to writing reviews is to emphasize on mechanics and downtime feel, two aspects that don't really get portrayed in reviews or trailers. And frankly, why would they? Typical reviews are meant to either make you buy the game or avoid it, and trailers are meant to show off the coolest parts of the game. However, as we all know, games aren't always top energy. RPG's will have grinding, shooters will have long missions, strategy will have a challenging AI, whatever the genre, there's always a lull in gameplay, and I want to point out how that lull feels, as that lull may occur quite frequently. I also want people to know how the game is played, as when you see a trailer, you usually see the cinematic side, not the gameplay side. I want to portray how exactly the games mechanics work, what you actually do in the games, as well as how those mechanics feel, as some can be clunky, while others can be very smooth.
Of course, nothing is completely without bias, so be sure to take anything said with at least a single grain of salt. I may find a lull or mechanic boring or tedious, but you may really enjoy it, and that's totally fine. I'll do my best to point out any aspect of a review that may be clouded. My goal is for you to be able to decide if a game is right for you. I don't want you to buy a game if you aren't going to like it. That's something that a lot of game companies don't want to hear, as, well, that means less money for them. I don't care about money; I care about video games, and those who play them.
So, stick around, I plan to post a review for a game every week, and I'm going to do what I can to keep that schedule. If it gets tedious or interferes with the quality of the content, I'll cut back. I want to make sure I'm giving everything as fair a shot as possible, whether it be a massive AAA game, an unknown indie gem, or random freeware. I hope you guys enjoy!
